FAQs

Beemers & more Motorcycle Works is an independently owned and operated full-service motorcycle dealer located fifteen short minutes from the glorious motorcycle roads of the Rocky Mountains in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Roxanne and Steve Eddins, each riders with hundreds of thousands of miles' experience and each with specialized factory training on BMW motorcycles, established Beemers & more Motorcycle Works in June, 2005 to provide an extremely experienced and professional yet customized, relaxed, and highly personal approach to the service of both you as a rider and your motorcycle from the very first day of ownership.

Starting with a small 1500 square foot facility, Beemers focused on its core mission of superior maintenance and repair of BMW motorcycles and of offering a unique selection of high-quality gear for the dedicated rider. Growth and customer demand prompted the development of a pre-owned vehicle sales department. Space for these changes and the addition of a dedicated Rider Lounge with internet access and motorcycle movies was added in the spring of 2007, bringing the facility to over 3000 square feet.In September, 2007, Beemers welcomed Matthew Peters-former owner of BMW/Ducati Fort Collins-as Sales Manager, enhancing the already positive growth. As this is written, Beemers & more is further expanding its powersports showroom, bringing the total facility to approximately 5000 square feet.

Over the past 2-plus years, Beemers has also welcomed additional staff members in the parts and service departments, and wants you to know that we and our staff continue to be here to take care of the most important part of our business-you...the riders.

Roxanne's background:

RoxanneRoxanne has been riding since age sixteen and has owned eleven BMW's over the past 28 years. She was the first female president of the BMW Motorcycle Club of Colorado in 1981 and won first-place in the BMWMOA National Mileage Contest in 1979. She has worked at shops in California and Colorado in parts, sales, and service management, and has certified training by BMW Motorrad. She has three grown sons, all of whom have shared adventures on motorcycles over the years, and continues to ride avidly. Roxanne has ridden in all US States except Alaska. She currently rides a 2005 R1200GS, most recently taking the GS into Copper Canyon in Mexico.

Steve's background:

SteveSteve has been riding since age fourteen and currently owns a 2005 R1200GS. Steve achieved factory-trained Master Certified status in 2003 and has many years of working on BMW motorcycles. This advanced certification takes many years of training and classes, and many more years to apply with expertise. Steve has the training, certification and the expertise. Steve is also a graduate of American Motorcycle Institute, where he achieved first-place in both the BMW and Harley-Davidson training and was awarded the first-place trophy for being at the top of his graduating classes. He also holds advanced factory training on Ducati motorcycles. Steve has worked at shops in Colorado and North Carolina and has extensive experience on all models of BMW motorcycles. Prior to focusing on BMW motorcycles, Steve owned an independent motorcycle shop in Florida for several years in the 1980's. His mechanical experience began very young with training, and twelve years of positions as technician, parts and service manager within the automotive industry prior to blending his love of motorcycles and his profession. He also rides avidly, year-round, and also made the trip to Copper Canyon in Mexico recently.

Matthew's Background:

Notorious as the owner of BMW/Ducati Fort Collins from 1998 through early 2002, Matthew Peters returned to the Eurobike fold as the Sales and Internet Manager with Beemers & more in September, 2007.

Born and raised in the middle of nowhere (Manchester, TN to be exact), Matthew was expressly forbidden by his mother to even look at, much less own and ride, any motorcycle whatsoever. Safety was of no concern to her; it was rather a case of her having been exposed to too many bad Hell's Angels movies in the sensationalistic '50s. Needless to say, this fostered an intense desire to ride, and, once free from the shackles he was living on his own, he proceeded to purchase a new 1981 Honda CB750F Super Sport.

After moving to Fort Collins in late 1983, Matthew decided to join his vocation with his hobby by taking a sales position at the local Yamaha dealership, where he was regarded by management as "quite possibly the worst motorcycle salesperson in the history of the industry" and quickly fired. Clueless and stubborn, he managed to finagle his way onto the sales staff at the local Honda dealer, where he spent 3 1/2 years finally getting a clue as to how to deal with people. That was followed by 8 years at Ed Carroll Motor Company, where he refined his skills and nurtured an appreciation for German vehicles.

In 1997, Fred Lippucci, the BMW motorcycle dealer in Fort Collins, offered Matthew a sales position with the understanding that time and effort would result in a gradual transfer of ownership. Over the course of that summer and early fall, however, it became clear that that plan was unrealistic, so on January 1, 1998, Matthew assumed complete ownership of BMW/Ducati Fort Collins

New management was a shot in the arm for the dealership, and with a combination of enthusiasm, hard work, and dedicated employees (including our own Steve Eddins!) tempered with a serious dose of wackiness, BMW/Ducati Fort Collins quickly became one of the fastest-growing European motorcycle dealers in the nation. In 2001, BMW ranked Fort Collins 22nd in sales volume out of approximately 155 US dealers. And this out of only 2400 square feet!

Success comes with a price, and the pressure from BMW for a new high-end facility conforming to their image guidelines led to the search for capital. That led in turn to an offer to sell the dealership with an understanding that Matthew would stay with the company as General Manager and retain an important role in the next phase of the dealership's growth and development. The deal closed April 10, 2002.

It became immediately apparent that the new owner's business philosophy was shockingly and drastically different than was originally perceived, so Matthew left the company within a few weeks. After a few months were taken to recharge the batteries, he went to work in sales at Interstate Honda, which led to promotion to Sales Manager, a position he held until the move across I-25 to Beemers & more.

Matthew's primary motorcycling interests are in the sport and sport-touring categories, and he has owned classics like a 1983 V45 Interceptor, a 1986 VFR750F, and a 1993 Ducati 900 Supersport. A Honda 919 currently inhabits the garage, but the BMW R1200GS Adventure and the HP2 have really attracted his attention. He roadraced for a couple of years in the mid-'80s with the MRA, where he is still considered the ultimate "moving chicane".

Matthew has been married for 5 years to Kathy, the love of his life. He has 3 children. Katrina is a junior in the nursing school at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Erik is a sophomore at Fort Collins High School, and Kerry is in 7th grade at Boltz Junior High. Kathy has one child, a 5 year old Dachshund named Bentley (or RatDog if you're talking to Matthew). Three cats and a Great Dane/Pointer/Shetland Pony mix named Frank also share space.

Hobbies include cooking, creative profanity, rooting against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, classic movies (Casablanca, The Quiet Man, and Blues Brothers top his list of favorites), and making fun of people who take themselves too seriously. Matthew is an avid MotoGP and NASCAR fan, and strongly (obsessively?) supports Jeremy Mayfield
